This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 20 Powderhorn Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681.

Under general supervision, independently perform clerical duties required to maintain client services needed.

Responsibilities for the Administrative Specialist II:
  • Receive incoming telephone calls, address issues or refer to appropriate staff for appropriate action needed. Check in scheduled clients upon arrival and notify appropriate staff of arrival.

  • Obtain and enter client data into computer on new clients and any changes on current clients.

  • Maintain clinical staff appointments on computer and inform effected staff of change.

  • Assist with keeping orientation manuals, application packets, etc. available at front desk.

  • Knowledgeable of corporate compliance and reports to proper person where the Center may be out of compliance with Federal, State, or Department regulations or standards.


  • A high school diploma and one (1) year of clerical experience, or an associate degree in secretarial science or a related field; or two (2) years of clerical experience.

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Post hire, employees must:
  • Have general knowledge of office practices/procedures.

  • Have the ability to deal effectively with the public in disseminating and obtaining information.

  • Have considerable knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, language usage and clerical formats.
