The Department of Aging and Adult Services – Office of the Public Guardian is recruiting qualified professionals for the position of Administrative Manager. The Administrative Manager provides overarching leadership for high-visibility, cross-department initiatives and represents the department in major collaborations with County leadership, public agencies, and community partners. Within this broad strategic role, the position also supports program-specific efforts serving individuals experiencing homelessness, those with behavioral health needs, and older adults or persons with disabilities. The role requires working knowledge of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)/ Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA), substance use and addiction services, and homelessness and housing systems, and involves close coordination with behavioral health staff, housing providers, and community organizations to support integrated, client-focused solutions. The incumbent also contributes to high-level strategic planning and oversees public information and internal communications functions, particularly for politically sensitive or community-impactful projects. This position ensures administrative and fiscal operations align with statutory and program requirements, engages stakeholders at multiple organizational levels, and provides leadership to multidisciplinary teams while overseeing facilities, capital projects, safety, and emergency preparedness. Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential to ensure efficient, compliant, and effective service delivery.
