This highly responsible position provides administrative support and staff assistance to help ensure that the Louisiana Schools of Nursing and Educational Programs are compliant with legal standards of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Incumbent will also assist in the timely issuance and maintenance of Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses, and approval for RN students to enroll in clinical courses to all eligible and qualified persons regulated by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Incumbent must possess and utilize knowledge relative to the Nurse Practice Act and the Administrative Rules of the Board relative to Schools of Nursing. The incumbent is expected to work collaboratively and communicate frequently with internal and external staff and stakeholders. Incumbent must be able to work independently, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and exercise sound judgment, creativity, and resourcefulness in all areas of responsibility. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a highly diversified workload.


About this position:


This vacancy will be filled as a temporary Classified WAE appointment.Incumbents in these positions may not work more than 1,245 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

This position provides administrative and programmatic support to ensure compliance, coordination, and efficient operations within the Nursing Division.

This position will:

  • Coordinate and review documentation from Schools of Nursing to ensure compliance with Board rules, regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Conduct initial staff reviews of faculty qualifications, program reports, and supporting documentation; request and evaluate additional information as needed
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and agenda materials for presentation to the Board of Directors
  • Monitor and analyze program performance data, including NCLEX results, and assist in reporting findings to leadership
  • Serve as a liaison with Schools of Nursing, continuing education providers, and stakeholders to provide guidance and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate and support board, committee, and task force meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and meeting minutes
  • Maintain official records, reports, and documentation in accordance with established recordkeeping requirements
  • Provide administrative support for licensure and regulatory processes, including data entry, document management, and responding to inquiries
  • Manage correspondence and communications with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:Classified WAE - 1,245-hour limit per year.

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
