- Pennsylvania Act 153 Clearance prior to appointment.
- Applicants must become residents of the City of Pittsburgh prior to employment and remain a resident throughout employment.
- Applicants must obtain a CPR, First Aid Certificate within six (6) months of hire date and maintain throughout employment.
- A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License would be needed to operate a City vehicle but not necessary for the position.

Qualifying Requirements:
Your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will receive notice of your eligibility status via email.
- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of full-time experience in performing administrative and research duties. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a high school diploma or general equivalency.
- EQUIVALENCY: None permitted for this position. Therefore, no education/training and or work experience may be substituted toward the qualifying requirements listed above.

- Maintains the Director's schedule. Sets up meetings for the Director using the online calendar scheduling system.
- Assists with the entry of bi-weekly payroll for the department using the City's Ceridian Payroll program.
- Files the necessary paperwork for the administrative office, which includes letters, personnel information, etc.
- Responds to concerns from the general public via in-person engagements, phone calls and/or email and 311 submissions.
- Serves as an information source for CitiParks staff and outside agencies, organizations, the public, etc.; coordinates special projects as assigned.
- Connects customers/residents to the appropriate CitiParks program areas and other internal City departments and coordinates timely answers to customer requests, deploying customer-friendly/focused responses.
- Prepares correspondence and other written responses to complaints and questions from the public on behalf of the Director.
- Coordinates, conducts and/or attends meetings with the public, community groups, assigned departmental staff, and other entities regarding departmental projects, city services, activities, etc.
- Represents the Director and/or Assistant Directors on committees and at public functions and meetings as assigned.
- Provides clerical support for Director, Assistant Directors, and other CitiParks staff members.
- Handles phone and written correspondence (postal, mail, and e-mail).
- Creates and maintains databases and documents research for Community Services.
- Performs a variety of record-keeping tasks for city, state, and federally funded programs, as assigned.
- Manages area of responsibility in strict accordance with applicable laws, regulations and established policy, including union agreements, to ensure fair and standardized treatment of employees.
- Performs activities and functions of related personnel as assigned or required.
