JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Administrative Manager, Clinical Services to provide strategic administrative oversight for the clinical operations of the Division of Gastroenterology to include access management, clinic and endoscopy space management, and operations management. Lead and collaborate with DHIP and hospital leadership through the development and leadership of performance improvement activities and act as liaison between clinic/endoscopy sites, the three hospitals, the scheduling center and the GI Division.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide focused analysis, guidance and support to the Division Administrator and Clinical Chiefs on operational improvements and management of projects including clinic access, scheduling practices and guidelines, clinic and endoscopy space issues and special projects. Serve as a project manager for interdisciplinary teams to design and implement strategies for enhancing performance.
  • Manage and coordinate clinical administrative activities involved in strategic planning, analysis and implementation of clinical operational objectives. Identify opportunities for improved performance by utilizing performance improvement techniques and methodologies.
  • Provide administrative direction and coordination in the formulation, interpretation and administration of current and long-range policies, procedures and programs for the Division of Gastroenterology. This includes identifying gaps in process, assessing possible solutions, convening workgroups to develop new workflows, implementing agreed upon solution, monitoring of ongoing progress and addressing follow up issues accordingly.
  • Provide leadership and establish performance improvement priorities in clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and productivity improvement processes. Review monthly divisional and physician dashboard reports with divisional leadership and provide feedback and recommendations to Division and Clinical Chiefs and Division Administrator.
  • Work with Revenue Manager, Physicians, HCAs and DHIP leadership to address physician billing issues; Manage Provider Enrollment function for all clinical faculty including new faculty as well as changes with existing faculty.
  • Meet on a regular basis with Medical Director and Health Center Administrator of off-site practices to discuss operational issues. Act as a Divisional liaison in order to resolve problems for offsite clinics. Evaluate effectiveness of improvement strategies through sustained monitoring of performance.
  • Represent Department in Hospital clinic services meetings and participate in various Gastroenterology Leadership Meetings.
  • Manage a team of administrative support staff.
  • Work with Maestro and divisional leadership to ensure best utilization of the EHR.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work requires a general business background generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • Work requires 6 years of related business or administrative experience to acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative functions.

  • A master's degree in a related field, such as business or health administration, may be substituted for experience on a 1:1 basis.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
