The Teacher Education Programs at Fresno Pacific University include the Multiple Subjects, Educational Specialist, and Single Subject credential programs, accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), and the Master of Arts in Teaching. The credential programs are offered at the university’s main campus in Fresno and at the regional campus in Visalia. Our programs are committed to providing candidates a strong foundation in educational theory and pedagogical skills in the context of the Christian faith. Candidates’ field experiences as either student teachers or independent teachers within K-12 schools are also an integral part of the credential programs. The programs maintain a strong reputation within the educational community of the Central Valley as graduates are known for their excellent preparation to teach and serve in the diverse schools.


  • Teach courses as described and assigned
  • Work with the program director, course lead, and other faculty to implement the course content and monitor student progress

Required:

  • M.A. or Doctorate in related field of study
  • Experience in PK-12 setting appropriate to the content of the courses assigned
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty in a collegial environment
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church.

Preferred:

  • Doctorate in related discipline
  • Prior experience working with adults in a teaching setting

Environmental Conditions:

  • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
  • Computer use for grading, communicating with students, and managing content on the Learning Management System of the university.
  • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
  • Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work with students in a face to face or online setting as dictated by the course format.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

Compensation is based on highest completed degree level:
Master's degree: Anticipated pay per unit $811.51, $23.97 per hour
Terminal degree: Anticipated pay per unit $977.98, $28.82 per hour
