Adjunct Instructor Tower Technician Training Program North Central State College is seeking knowledgeable and experienced adjunct faculty to teach in our established Tower Technician Training Program . This hands -on program equips students with the skills needed for success in the fast -paced wireless industry, covering everything from telecommunications fundamentals and safety best practices to installation, maintenance, antennas and lines, structural modifications, and NWSA certification preparation. Essential Duties (not all inclusive): • Teach assigned courses in the Tower Technician Training Program in alignment with established syllabi, incorporating real-world applications and industry best practices. • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands -on lab activities to reinforce learning outcomes. • Provide students with safety -first instruction in climbing, rigging, rescue techniques, and OSHA standards. • Mentor and advise students on career pathways, industry certifications (NWSA), and employment readiness. • Assist students with registration, retention, and placement, connecting them to industry partners when appropriate. • Maintain up -to-date course syllabi, outlines, and instructional expectations. • Evaluate student progress through assignments, assessments, and practical demonstrations; provide constructive feedback. • Maintain accurate academic and attendance records in compliance with College policies. • Ensure classroom and lab equipment is maintained, operational, and aligned with current industry standards. • Research, recommend, and integrate new technologies, instructional methods, and industry trends into the curriculum. • Collaborate with program faculty and administrators to continuously improve course delivery and student outcomes. • Participate in departmental planning, budgeting, and course scheduling. • Participate in outreach to promote the program to prospective students and employers. • Foster partnerships with industry to strengthen program relevance, internships, and job placement opportunities. • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with industry standards, certifications, and instructional practices. • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and respect in all instructional settings. Requirements • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline preferred. • Minimum 5 years’ tower climbing work experience. • In-depth knowledge and experience in telecom wireless tower installation, basic electrical, OSHA safety and First Aid/CPR. • Knowledge and experience in wireless cell phone tower installation and NWSA certified preferred. • Ability to effectively communicate orally and writing, work independently, and use sound judgment.
