This adjunct role offers the opportunity to teach, mentor, and inspire students within Utah Valley University’s nationally recognized ballroom dance program. As an Adjunct Ballroom Dance Instructor, you will share your expertise in Latin, American Social, and/or International Ballroom styles while delivering engaging, student-centered instruction aligned with clear learning objectives. The position allows you to focus on both technical excellence and artistic expression, contributing directly to students’ growth in skill, confidence, and discipline.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Department Chair and the Ballroom Dance Program Coordinator, the Adjunct Ballroom Dance Instructor provides high-quality instruction in one or more areas of ballroom dance, including Latin, American Social, and/or International Ballroom styles at the Bronze, Silver, and/or Gold levels.
  • The instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, student-centered instruction that aligns with approved curricula and measurable learning objectives.
  • In addition to technique and performance instruction, this role may include teaching dance pedagogy and instructional methods, as well as supporting Back-Up Team direction, choreography development, and concert production as assigned.
  • The instructor evaluates student learning and instructional effectiveness using current standards and best practices in the discipline.
  • Participation in required department and program meetings is expected.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

A high school diploma with teaching and/or professional experience in ballroom dance.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content of courses taught.
  • Effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and evaluate students as well as interact effectively with other dance faculty.
