Southeastern Illinois College is seeking a qualified Adjunct English Instructor to teach in-person developmental English courses during the fall semester. This position involves teaching 1–2 classes over a full 16-week term, focusing on Reading and Developmental English.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable delivering face-to-face instruction and supporting students in building foundational reading and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
Teach 1–2 in-person developmental English courses over a 16-week semester
Facilitate engaging and effective classroom instruction
Support student learning and progress in reading and writing skills
Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback
Adhere to college policies and academic standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English or Education
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience teaching developmental or remedial English courses
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
