Activity / Activities Aide - part time Days

• Start Date:  ASAP, we have a new employee orientation class starting soon
  • Orientation Note:  Our New Employee Orientations are held every other Wednesday, starting at 10:30am.  You will need to attend the full day.
• Hourly Wage:  15.75
• Status:  part time, 8 hour shifts 
• Schedule:  9:30-5:30 and every other weekend rotation
  • Part Time will require: 2-3 shifts per week with every other weekend

The Terrace is a skilled nursing facility that cares for older adults who need extra support. Some of our residents are here short term to recover after surgery or illness. Others live with us long term, including those with Alzheimer’s or memory loss. Every person here depends on us.  And we take that responsibility to heart.

We’re seeking an Activity Aide to involve residents in a therapeutic engagement program.  You will help residents with life enrichment activities and a variety of entertainment options to help keep them engaged in their recovery programs.  We are seeking candidates with a strong background in sports, culture, music, and traditional recreational activities, to help bring joy, structure, and stimulation to those in our care.

What You’ll Do

• ✅ Lead engaging group events, ranging from fitness and games to music and arts
• ✅ Lead stimulating individual cognitive and memory retention activities for our long-term residents
• ✅ Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare (EMR system)
• ✅ Collaborate with our health care teams to individualize your approach
• ✅ You may be asked to drive and/or escort residents to off-site events, appointments or activities utilizing our facility van

Activities Aide (in other centers this may be called a Life Enrichment Coordinator)

• Prior experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is strongly preferred.
• The ideal candidate is outgoing, compassionate, and skilled at creating a welcoming environment that encourages resident involvement and participation.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient documentation systems is preferred.
• If assigned transport (driving) responsibilities, must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the organization’s motor vehicle record and insurance eligibility requirements.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
