Accreditation & Program Coordinator
Location: Parks Administration Building 12520 Ulmerton Rd., Largo, FL 33774
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Join our team as an Accreditation & Program Coordinator, supporting departmental efforts toward national accreditation. In this role, you’ll work with leadership and partners across the organization to apply national standards and help strengthen the services we provide to the public.
This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the department’s national accreditation process. Additionally, it manages the department’s electronic document storage system, ensuring records are accurate and accessible, while collaborating across the department to support organizational goals.
What Would You Do?
Oversee the professional standards mandated or recommended by the Commission for Accreditation of Parks & Recreation Agencies through the National Recreation & Parks Association. (CAPRA).
Develop educational initiatives and conduct department-wide training.
Assist managers and supervisors with policy and accreditation compliance and provide accreditation guidance for all department employees.
Facilitate the drafting of new and/or revised departmental policies and procedures.
Coordinate data collection, track performance measures and generate statistical reports.
Attend and participate in accreditation meetings and serve on related committees to receive education on the latest trends, best practices, and standards.
Make recommendations based on accreditation inspections.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
What You Need to Have?
Experience: Professional experience in administration of park and recreation programs.
Degree: Recreation administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field
At least 7 years as described above.
Associate’s degree in a related field and 5 years’ experience as described above.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years’ experience as described above.
Master’s degree and 1 years’ experience or higher-level degree.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Highly Desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint.
Knowledge of records retention policies and best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to exercise independent judgement.
Skill in using database systems, spreadsheets, and document management software to organize, track, and analyze information efficiently.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors, managers, and the public.
Experience maintaining records and documentation in support of audits and reporting requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
