Job Summary: The Accounting Supervisor will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization while providing leadership and guidance to the accounting team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, and compliance with GAAP, while serving as a key partner to the Controller and finance leadership.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with finance leadership
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Help maintain strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation
  • Coordinate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
  • Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to accounting staff to support professional development


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
  • Experience in healthcare, laboratory, or highly regulated environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
