This position reports to the CFO and is central to building the financial infrastructure that will support LifeSpanMD's next phase of growth.


SUMMARY:

LifeSpanMD is seeking an Accounting Manager to play a foundational role in building a best-in-class finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on leadership position for a motivated accounting professional who wants to own the close process, develop a team, and grow with a high-velocity healthcare platform. The Accounting Manager will drive the monthly close across a multi-entity organization and mentor a team of Staff Accountants.


Key responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end monthly accounting close across a multi-entity healthcare organization, including close calendar management, account reconciliations, and on-time delivery of accurate financials.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Staff Accountants. Set clear expectations, review work product, and build technical capabilities across the team.
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to accounting policy.
  • Support the financial integration of acquired and partnering practices, interfacing directly with practice-level leaders and operations managers.
  • Streamline and scale accounting processes as the organization grows, identifying automation and efficiency opportunities across the close cycle.
  • Support external reporting obligations, including lender compliance reporting and audit coordination with external auditors.
  • Partner directly with the CFO on variance analysis, ad hoc financial analysis, and internal reporting to support operational decision-making.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software required; QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise experience a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead a team and partner with senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
