What You'll Be Doing
Lead the Accounting Close Process
- Own the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure financial information is complete and reliable.
- Analyze accounting results, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Drive continuous improvements that increase efficiency and shorten the close cycle.
Support a Global Business
- Manage accounting activities within a multi-currency environment, including foreign exchange analysis and revaluation activities.
- Partner closely with operational teams to support inventory accounting, product costing, freight and landed cost analysis, and inventory movement across suppliers, manufacturers, and distribution channels.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial data across multiple business functions and locations.
Financial Reporting & Business Support
- Prepare internal financial reporting packages and consolidated financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting initiatives.
- Provide meaningful financial insights and analysis to leadership teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decisions and operational initiatives.
Strengthen Processes & Controls
- Support annual audits and other financial reviews by coordinating documentation and responding to requests.
- Assist with compliance initiatives, internal controls, and accounting policy development.
- Maintain and enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting structures.
- Help identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve scalability as the organization continues to grow.
Lead and Develop Others
- Mentor and support accounting team members, helping to develop talent and strengthen overall team performance.
- Foster collaboration across Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other key business functions.
- Serve as a trusted resource and problem-solver across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of the month-end close process.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
- CPA or public accounting background would be a plus.
