Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead the development and day-to-day execution of our in-house accounting function. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with leadership capabilities and enjoys building processes in a high-growth startup environment.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee core accounting operations, manage the close process, and help establish scalable systems, policies, and controls. You will also play a key role in hiring and mentoring future accounting team members as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Oversee preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP
Lead the transition of accounting operations from external providers to a fully in-house function
Manage and optimize general ledger activity and chart of accounts structure
Partner cross-functionally with operations, product, compliance, and leadership teams
Coordinate audits, including managing external auditors and preparing required documentation
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
Support regulatory reporting and compliance requirements relevant to a fintech environment
Hire, mentor, and develop accounting staff as the team expands

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience (including management experience)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment preferred
Prior experience building or scaling accounting functions is a strong plus
Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across functions
Experience in fintech or financial services is a plus
