Job Purpose


The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring timely and accurate financial reports. This position will work directly with our Controller and members of the Leadership Team to provide support for continued growth. This will include implementation of scalable systems to support the monthly financial close, policies and procedures as well as assisting with developing and reporting key performance indicators, producing budgets, modeling & reporting and monthly flux analysis.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)


• Establish a consistent pattern of timely monthly financial close process resulting in the issuance of accurate reports and financial statements through a holistic approach to managing sub-cycles of AP, AR closes. Prepare and present flux analysis in meeting with leadership to culminate close cycle.

• Responsible for ensuring that transactions are recorded in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Manage and lead annual review/audit process.

• Managing the internal accounting team and ensuring that accounting operations are optimal. Responsible for establishing continuous process improvements and development in team execution.

• Responsible for performing more complex or technical tasks related to determining accruals and estimates as part of the financial close. Responsible for global consolidation and issuing Financial Statements

• Sole FPA person responsible for developing annual budgets and ongoing forecasting in collaboration with the Controller and leadership team.

• Monitor and manage overall cash forecasting and risk management initiatives.

• Manage the timely filing of all required tax returns and other statutory filings with external units.

• Provide technical support to our staff by being a resource in accounting or other areas requiring specialized accounting guidance.

• Audit all processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards, principles, and company policy including ensuring confidentiality.

• Maintain all finance related policies and recommend new or modified policies to reflect changing business needs. Support statement reviews and various audits by external parties

• Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by Controller.

Qualifications & Skills


Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance related field

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate accounting focused on back office, monthly closes and producing Excel based financial statements

• 3+ years of experience of FPA activities including budgeting, forecasting and modeling business scenarios in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to manage, supervise and motivate co-workers

• Experience in designing and implementing financial controls and processes

• Advanced knowledge of internal accounting controls and the ability to monitor and correct controls as needed to assure compliance and integrity of financial statements by conducting internal audits

• High degree of accuracy and strict attention to detail

• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

• Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills

• Proactive and willing to challenge current ways of thinking

• Ability to use discretion and judgment in confidentiality sensitive situations


Preferred:

• CPA or MBA strongly preferred


Working conditions


The working conditions for this position is primarily sedentary in an office environment, experiences frequent interruptions, required to meet deadlines, requires visual concentration on detail, dexterity and precision. Typical work hours are M-F 8am-5pm.


Travel Requirements


This position may be required to travel for business purposes.


Physical Requirements


• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk 10% of the time, stand 10% of the time and sit 80% of the time.

• The employee will occasionally lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.

• Employee may use computer, phone, copier/scanner and other office equipment in the course of a day.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.
