POSITION DESCRIPTION


Accounting Manager

Responsible for the month-end and the year-end close, internal controls’ testing, preparation of all audit workpapers and schedules, and financial/compliance reporting in a timely manner to provide management with information to make necessary business decisions for the company operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage the monthly and annual general ledger closing process, including all accrual postings for month-end close.
  • Complete all fixed asset journal entries—asset disposals, sales, reinstatements, and new units—monthly; run depreciation and NBVs for all fixed asset units.
  • Process payroll entries to GL per data provided by HR.
  • Reconcile all GL accounts with emphasis on bank, AP, AR, fixed asset, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Ensure monthly/quarterly sales tax filings are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure property taxes on personal property are calculated and paid on a timely basis.
  • Assist in preparation of standard monthly financials and analysis of operating results.
  • Track monthly financial performance for both P&L and balance sheet, operational KPIs, and segment results against budget and provide variance explanations.
  • Prepare and present a monthly management reporting package measuring performance and identifying significant trends and variances using KPI trend analysis and a scorecard.
  • Prepare weekly cash summary and forecast report.
  • Coordinate with the FP&A VP to prepare an annual budget.
  • Assist with creating/developing reports to support the team with various analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of financial information required for the annual audit.
  • Assist the Controller in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve internal control and ensure proper recording of financial information.
  • Assist with the annual internal controls’ testing by auditing specific processes to ensure controls are sufficiently designed and are working as intended.
  • Support Controller, SVP and CFO with any ad-hoc reports or other requests.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Some travel may be required as necessary to headquarter location


Qualifications / Skills:


  • Advanced computer skills w/ Microsoft Office—Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
  • Advanced skills with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau).
  • Familiar with General Ledger systems – RMI, FSM Cloudsuite preferred but not required.
  • Able to work under a tight month-end close schedule.
  • Understanding of how Accounting/Finance strategies can drive the business.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong partnering and collaboration skills required.
  • Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, and time-management skills.


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required.
  • 10+ years industry experience.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of accounting/finance experience with progressive responsibility (public or private).
  • $135k-$155k plus 15% bonus
