ABA Trainer

JOB SUMMARY:

The ABA Trainer is a Senior-level BCBA who supports the training needs of the department. The ABA Trainer provides a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessments and clinical services for children with autism spectrum disorder, and/or other related behavioral and developmental disabilities. The ABA Trainer will provide direct clinical therapy in clinical and/or community-based settings. The ABA Trainer will lead/attend meetings and conduct on-going staff training as it relates to the ABA program, and oversee clinical on-boarding and professional development activities. The ABA Trainer consults with and instructs Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) regarding proactive, educational, programming, and behavioral support; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans, and collaborates with the pediatric center medical and therapy team to better clinical outcomes for the families served. The ABA Trainer will assist in developing strategies for program growth, and is responsible for accurate documentation, reports and program records.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments; write individualized behavior plans
• Provide direct behavior therapy to young children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in clinic, school and/or home setting
• Design behavioral interventions based on client’s needs and current research
• Provide training, supervision and oversight to RBT’s and other non-certified staff, and other BCBA’s as needed.
• Graph and visually analyze data
• Provide training and consultation to parents and/or teachers
• Work in a team to facilitate optimal care and exceptional outcomes for patients
• Provide fieldwork supervision to master’s level graduate students working towards BCBA certification
• Maintain communication with intake/scheduling and Regional Manager regarding schedule changes, call-outs, etc.
• Provide mentorship and support to newly certified BCBAs
• Oversee clinical on-boarding of RBTs and BCBAs
• Oversee Training Site requirements for graduate students obtaining supervised fieldwork hours
• Oversee non-certified staff 40 hour RBT training and competency assessments
• Monitor relevant RBT records stored in Central Reach (i.e., 40 hour training certificate, competency assessment, RBT certification)
• Perform RBT Requirements Coordinator duties
• Provide ABA training for staff, parents and other caregivers.
• Maintain weekly minimum 20 hours billable productivity

This role is intended to be flexible and adaptive. Any and all duties as assigned over time may be required to support organizational needs.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Minimum of 3 years Certification by the Behavior Analyst certification Board and state licensure (as applicable).
• A Master’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices.
• Must maintain CPR certification
• At least 18 years of age

Preferred:

• At least 3 years of recent experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and thorough knowledge of child development.
• Experience developing positive behavior support plans and programs.
• Knowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behavior analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patient, parents and professionals.
• Basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.
• Respect for cultural diversity and capability of adapting ABA procedures to that diversity.
• Organize and prioritize work & manage time effectively
