Job Title: 2nd Shift Quality Tester
Job Description

The 2nd Shift Quality Tester performs detailed inspection and electrical testing of assembled single and three-phase transformers and regulators. This role ensures that all products meet established quality and safety standards through dielectric testing, visual inspections, and verification of electrical performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers and regulators to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct dielectric tests to ensure insulation integrity and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out thorough visual inspections of transformers and regulators to identify defects, damage, or nonconformities.
  • Perform quality inspection and verification of wiring, connections, and components to ensure proper assembly.
  • Use electrical troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve issues discovered during testing or inspection.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide testing and inspection activities.
  • Document test results, inspection findings, and any corrective actions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain testing equipment and tools in proper working condition and report any maintenance needs.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and safety protocols throughout all testing and inspection tasks.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to communicate quality issues and support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of quality testing experience in a manufacturing or electrical environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working around AC/DC electrical systems.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing wiring quality tests.
  • Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting on transformers, regulators, or similar electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with quality control and quality inspection processes.
  • Ability to perform electrical assembly and inspection tasks with attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) degree.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties.

  • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical principles related to AC and DC systems.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established testing and inspection procedures.
  • Good communication skills to clearly document findings and collaborate with team members.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace safety guidelines.
Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position with core hours from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The role may require overtime of up to 10 hours per day and work every other weekend, depending on production needs. Orientation takes place on 1st shift for one week before transitioning to 2nd shift. The work is performed in a production and testing environment focused on transformers and regulators, involving regular use of electrical testing equipment and tools. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to work on your feet for extended periods while performing inspections and electrical testing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
