Job Title: 2nd Shift Cleanroom Technician

Job Description

This role supports the production of single-use surgical items, instruments, and kits in a controlled cleanroom environment. The 2nd Shift Cleanroom Technician assembles, inspects, and packages medical devices according to strict quality and documentation standards, helping ensure safe and reliable products for hospitals and healthcare product manufacturers.

2nd shift - 2pm to 10:30pm

$17.50/hr

Responsibilities

  • Count, cut, measure, fold, and otherwise modify raw materials according to instructions in the Device Master Record.
  • Complete required inspections and documentation of quantities, control numbers, and other information in accordance with QS and GMP policies.
  • Perform on-line visual inspection of each device as it is produced and promptly report any issues to the Production Supervisor for disposition.
  • Seal products in their final packaging configuration, following proper procedures and using correct machine settings for the sealer.
  • Prepare packaged work-in-progress for sterilization and complete all necessary documentation and control numbers per QS and GMP requirements.
  • Maintain proper inventory control procedures, including product staging, segregation, and rotation to ensure accurate material flow.
  • Perform and document scheduled facility cleaning tasks in accordance with QS requirements.
  • Understand and consistently follow proper cleanroom etiquette and gowning procedures.
  • Support the objectives of the quality management system and recommend improvements when needed.
  • Work as part of a team to help achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide positive, enthusiastic support that contributes to a constructive attitude and strong team morale.
  • Identify and suggest improvements or modifications to departmental procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support production needs.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions such as Device Master Records and work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Motivation to work in a structured, process-driven production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of regular job duties.
  • Ability to operate basic production and packaging equipment safely and correctly.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including basic English to read work orders and communicate with auditors and supervisors.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment with strict gowning and cleanliness requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team on 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., Monday–Friday) with overtime as needed on weekdays or Saturdays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred 1 year of experience in a cleanroom, medical device assembly, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience in general production, packing, or medical assembly is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with QS and GMP policies and quality management systems.
  • Proven team leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute positively to team morale.
  • Comfort working in an environment where many tenured employees primarily speak Spanish.
  • Ability to identify and communicate potential improvements to departmental procedures.

Work Environment

This position is based in a cleanroom environment within a new department of approximately four employees on 2nd shift. The standard schedule is 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekdays or Saturdays. The workspace is highly controlled and cleanliness-focused, with strict adherence to quality system (QS) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Team members must wear full cleanroom gear while working, including scrubs, a white coat, gloves, hair net, and other protective items, and must not wear makeup, jewelry, false eyelashes, or artificial nails. Employees may take set breaks after four hours and are allowed to drink water or use the restroom, but must inform the lead before leaving the cleanroom because they must ungown and re-gown to re-enter. The environment includes a mix of English and Spanish speakers, and many tenured employees communicate primarily in Spanish, while basic English is necessary to read work orders and interact with auditors and supervisors. Work involves standing, handling materials, operating basic production equipment, and performing routine cleaning and documentation tasks in a quiet, focused production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Placentia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
