As a CBRE Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of boilers and other mechanical equipment and systems while supporting one of the world’s most broadly based healthcare organizations.

This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, which provides support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 4:00pm - 12:30am preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform all plumbing, electrical, and HVAC requirements for the building.
  • Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, and more.
  • Verify plant conditions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Operate a large‑tonnage chiller plant.
  • Operate and maintain watertube boilers.
  • Operate Siemens BMS.
  • Complete general repairs and installations throughout the property, including doors, ceilings, hand railings, and floors.
  • Perform plumbing repairs including water closets, urinals, flush valves, and lavatories.
  • Inspect boiler room equipment, fan rooms, cooling towers, motors, pumps, electric rooms, backup generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps.
  • Document and report activities to your supervisor.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies such as fires, evacuations, or equipment failures.
  • Complete required safety training and respond to customer inquiries promptly.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of principles, techniques, and procedures to handle complex assignments and develop innovative solutions.
  • Share expertise with team members and coach others across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values, and work to build consensus across teams.
  • Influence a wide range of operational, customer, project, or service activities.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job‑related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Journeyman or EPA Universal License required.
  • Stationary Engineer License required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and lifting or carrying 50 lbs or more.
  • Strong judgment skills with the ability to analyze information from multiple sources.
  • Openness to new approaches and solutions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and a highly inquisitive mindset.
