Job Summary

Incarnate Word Catholic School, K-8th grade, in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a full-time or part-time 2nd Grade Academic Assistant for the 2026-27 school year. The Academic Assistant will support classroom instruction by working with students individually and in small groups, assisting with lesson preparation and classroom management, and helping create a positive, organized learning environment. Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities, small‑group work, and individualized student support.
  • Help maintain a structured, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non‑instructional times as assigned.
  • Prepare classroom materials, organize supplies, and support teachers with routine administrative tasks.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to students, modeling positive behavior and reinforcing school expectations.
  • Support students with varying learning needs under the direction of the teacher.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, staff, and students.
Job Requirements
  • Prior experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred.
  • A genuine desire to support teachers and serve students in their academic and personal growth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow spoken and written instructions.
  • Patience, reliability, and a positive, student‑centered attitude.
