What you'll do...

Visual Merchandising is a new capability for Walmart. Our role is to create breakthrough product presentation strategies that balance inspiration with ease in execution, spark discovery and drive conversion across all categories. The Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising will play a key role in developing End-to-End Visual Strategy, influencing alignment & collaboration with key stakeholders, concepting scalable presentations, developing execution tools/guides, and elevating the in-store experience. They are experts in visual merchandising, champions of execution excellence, stewards of holistic experiences and ambassadors of an inclusive culture.

As this is new capability for Walmart, ideal candidates will be able to lead through ambiguity, foster connectivity with the cross-functional team (Merchandising, Product Design, Space Planning, Merch Operations, Marketing, Retail Marketing, Store Operations, etc.), educate and promote visual merchandising as an essential function and be ready to roll-up their sleeves.

This role will be based in Hoboken, NJ.

You will make an impact by:

  • Supporting the development of learning plans to educate and onboard the organization to the Visual Merchandising capability, both at Home Office and Field; evangelizing Visual Merchandising as an essential function within Walmart's operating model.
  • Partnering with Associate Director on developing strategy and aligning with partners
  • Creating and presenting solutions to the business to bring the strategy/initiative to life and drive sales.
  • Developing visual guides and provides content for visual merchandising playbooks on optimal product presentation for field support teams; ensures alignment with the Walmart brand proposition.
  • Supporting development of the Visual Merchandising Operating Model / Ways of Working with key cross-functional partners.
  • Managing large or complex projects involving cross-functional teams from inception to store delivery.
  • Driving the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business and contingency plans as well as key priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Art, Design or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of Visual Merchandising Experience
  • 3+ years of corporate/home office leadership experience
  • 2+ years' experience in field visual merchandising
  • Strong communicator, organizational/time management skills and is a self-starter
  • Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures
  • Aptitude for building strong partnerships, presenting to and influencing across all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Sharepoint
  • Familiar with planograms (POG) or modular creation
  • Experience with Big Box Retailer a plus

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Fine Arts, or related field and 5 years experience in merchandising, marketing, or related field OR 7 years experience in merchandising, marketing, or related field.
