This temporary summer position provides seasonal support to the Farm Store team under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager and Store Manager. The role focuses on assisting with routine food preparation, cleaning, and basic customer service tasks to support daily operations during peak season. Summer Temporary employees perform assigned tasks and work under guidance when preparing food items and assisting customers. Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and instructiohns.
Support daily cooking and baking activities by completing assigned preparation steps under supervision.
Perform cleaning and sanitation duties, including washing dishes, wiping surfaces, sweeping, and mopping floors.
Stock and restock products and ingredients as directed.
Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing products under staff guidance.
Provide friendly and courteous customer service, referring detailed product or operational questions to a supervisor.
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty, and students.Education required to ensure success in this position:
Some high school preferred
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
1 year experience in a kitchen, bakery and grocery setting involving cooking, baking from scratch daily and presenting items for sale to the general public preferred.
Special skills, knowledge and abilities:
Knowledge and ability to utilize kitchen tools such as knives, food processor, blender, stove, ovens as well as bakery machinery such as mixers and dough sheeters.
License, certification, or registration necessary:

Physical requirements:
Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
Able to comfortably lift 25-50 lbs that may include flour, meats and equipment.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Environmental conditions:
Able to work in environments that can, at times, be hot such as kitchens, bakery.
Able to work in cold environments such as the butchery, walk in freezers and coolers if needed.
Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:
Able to operate dough mixers, food processors, sharp knives, meat grinders if necessary.
