Customer Support Representative – Mechanical Locks

Product Line

This role supports Kwikset’s mechanical lock portfolio, including standard residential locks, deadbolts, and commercial mechanical locking systems.

Position Overview

The Customer Support Representative serves as a frontline resource for consumers, delivering technical support, product guidance, and installation assistance related to Kwikset mechanical locks. This role requires strong customer service skills, a technical mindset, and the ability to handle high‑volume interactions with professionalism and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle high-volume inbound calls and emails regarding product issues, installation guidance, troubleshooting, and general product information
  • Provide clear, knowledgeable support while assessing customer needs and directing them to appropriate resources when required
  • Document all customer interactions accurately by entering detailed information into internal systems in real time
  • Evaluate reported product issues to determine repair eligibility versus replacement or scrap, following Consumer Service procedures
  • Assist customers with installation techniques, product features, and model comparisons as directed by the Consumer Service Supervisor
  • Respond to consumer repair requests in accordance with established service guidelines
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and service-oriented approach when managing challenging customer situations
  • Meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards in a fast-paced call center environment

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in product-based customer support or call center environment (preferred, not required)
  • Previous experience in hardware, mechanical products, or home improvement industry preferred
  • Technical aptitude with a strong willingness to learn; role involves significant self‑guided learning
  • Typing speed of 35+ WPM
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult customer interactions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort learning product mechanics

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
