Job Summary: Welds metal components together using TIG/MIG machine to weld radiator/oil cooler/charger air cooler parts by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:- Follows work instructions to ensure proper welding procedures are followed.
- Able to set up TIG/MIG machine: ensures amplifier and volts are set appropriately based on thickness of material.
- Able to understand how to read welding prints/symbols (convert decimals to fractions).
- Able to assemble (tack weld all parts to) whole radiator/oil cooler/charger air cooler according to the print.
- Able to MIG weld (wire feed) aluminum parts .062” to 1.00” thickness.
- Able to TIG weld aluminum parts from .062” to 1.00” thickness.
- Able to TIG/MIG seal weld aluminum variety of baffles, tank ends, and sides to the core.
- Able to TIG/MIG seal weld aluminum fittings/pipe in a circular pattern.
- Able to TIG/MIG seal weld steel surge tanks.
- Able to MIG weld steel weld nuts/brackets to the shrouds, sides and frames
- Able to MIG weld steel shroud corners, joints and shroud moons
- Able to use grinder to grind welds
- Performs preventative maintenance on machine including cleaning, and blowing it out.
- Other duties may be assigned.
