Job Title: Welder

Job Description

In this hands-on welder role, you will help build modular, mobile gas-to-methanol systems by welding, fabricating, and assembling structural frames, piping, and pressure vessels made from carbon and stainless steel. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly influence the quality, safety, and performance of these “chemical plants on wheels” deployed in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Weld structural frames, piping systems, and pressure vessels in accordance with engineering drawings, applicable codes, and established weld procedures.
  • Cut, fit, and assemble ferrous and non-ferrous materials to build modular skids and process systems.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, schematics, and weld callouts to execute work accurately and efficiently.
  • Assemble equipment, piping, valves, and controls into sub-skids and modules, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality.
  • Support electrical integration by installing basic wiring and electrical components following assembly instructions.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections, verify tolerances and fit-up, and comply with all QA/QC standards and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with engineers, quality assurance personnel, and other technicians to troubleshoot issues, solve fabrication and assembly problems, and deliver completed systems on schedule.
  • Apply strong blueprint reading skills to plan and sequence welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Use appropriate welding processes for structural welds and pipe welding on carbon and stainless steel materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proven hands-on experience in welding and fabrication within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Foundational training in Welding, Manufacturing, or Engineering Technology, such as a technical diploma, associate degree, or an equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes on carbon and stainless steels in 3G/4G plate and 6G pipe positions.
  • Valid welding certifications covering carbon steel, stainless steel, and dissimilar materials.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, isometric drawings, schematics, and job documentation.
  • Strong understanding of process piping, bolted joints, mechanical compression connections, and basic instrument installation.
  • Solid blueprint reading skills for structural and pipe welding applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, high attention to detail, and a consistent commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with clear and effective communication skills.

Why Work Here?

You will join a team that values collaboration, ambition, and a strong sense of purpose in building innovative modular process systems. The organization supports your well-being with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off and holidays. You will have access to professional development assistance to grow your skills and advance your career, along with opportunities for overtime for those who want to increase their earnings. The culture emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and pride in delivering high-quality, field-ready systems.

Work Environment

You will work in a climate-controlled, clean manufacturing environment designed for comfort and safety. The standard schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, with Friday available as a potential overtime day, and the schedule may eventually transition to a five-day workweek. The facility supports precision welding and fabrication work on modular skids, piping, and pressure vessels, and you will regularly use welding equipment, fabrication tools, and precision measurement instruments. The environment includes periods of physical activity and may involve working in confined spaces or at heights, always following established safety practices and procedures.
