Job Title: MIG Welder – 2nd Shift
Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced MIG Welder to work on a wide variety of specialized products in a manufacturing environment serving the agriculture industry and related equipment, including treadmill exercise components. You will use your stainless steel and MIG welding expertise to produce high-quality parts, working primarily on 2nd shift with significant overtime opportunities during peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and other materials to produce high-quality components and assemblies.
  • Interpret and read blueprints accurately to ensure welds and finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and tools to complete production tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Inspect welds and finished products for defects, making necessary adjustments or repairs to maintain quality.
  • Work on a variety of specialized products for the agriculture industry and treadmill exercise equipment components.
  • Follow established production schedules and meet daily and weekly output goals while maintaining consistent quality.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work, resolve issues, and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies and manufacturing standards.
  • Support overtime and extended hours as needed, including Fridays and Saturdays, to meet increased production demands.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of welding equipment.
  • Experience working with stainless steel materials in a welding and fabrication setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality welds.
  • Capability to work 2nd shift hours (approximately 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday) and support overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Reliability and punctuality to support a consistent production schedule.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow all safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general fabrication work in addition to MIG welding.
  • Background in production welding for agriculture industry products or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding and fabricating parts for exercise or treadmill components.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to adapt to changing production demands.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on production welding and fabrication. You will work primarily on 2nd shift, with typical hours of approximately 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Fridays are dedicated overtime days, and Saturdays are currently part of the regular schedule, resulting in an expected 50–60 hour workweek during peak demand. The pace is not extremely fast, allowing you to focus on quality while working on a mix of specialized products for the agriculture industry and treadmill exercise components. You will work with MIG welding equipment, stainless steel materials, and standard fabrication tools in an industrial shop setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and consistent production practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NEWTON, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
