Job Title: WelderJob Description

We are seeking an experienced welder proficient in ALU welding (TIG) and STEEL (MIG) for a temporary position lasting 3-6 months. This role is ideally suited for the 2nd shift (4x10’s, 2pm -12).

Responsibilities
  • Perform ALU welding using TIG and STEEL welding using MIG techniques.
  • Enforce shop safety policies and adhere to OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of welding machines, cranes, rigging equipment, and fabrication tools.
  • Track labor hours, material usage, and job status across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Assist with scheduling, estimating, and resource planning.
  • Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and workforce development.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in ALU welding (TIG) and STEEL welding (MIG).
  • Experience with blueprint reading and structural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to perform MIG welding on structural steel and aluminum.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting space-industry fabrication or aerospace-grade prototype work.
  • AWS certifications (CWI, CW, or similar).
  • Familiarity with machining operations or hybrid machine-fabrication workflows.
  • Experience with ERP/job-tracking systems.

Work Environment

Work in a small shop with a team of about 10 welders where the primary language spoken is Russian/Ukrainian. The shop operates in a dirty job shop style, outsourcing weld inspections. The 1st shift offers flexible hours starting at 6am. This company has evolved over 40 years into a nationally trusted manufacturer of complex structures and aerospace-grade machinery systems, specializing in large and technically demanding projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
