Job Description

This role focuses on performing high-quality welding on custom trucks and equipment in a dynamic, non-repetitive production environment. You will primarily use MIG welding with opportunities to work with pulse MIG and TIG processes, contributing to the fabrication of unique agricultural equipment across 1st or 2nd shift schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on a variety of components and assemblies according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Apply pulse welding techniques when qualified, and support TIG welding tasks as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine weld requirements, dimensions, and fabrication details.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Fabricate and fit parts prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity.
  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to standards, making adjustments as needed.
  • Work on unique trucks and equipment, adapting to non-repetitive, custom welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including steel toe boots.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines on assigned shifts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6+ months of welding experience.
  • At least 6+ months of blueprint reading experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
  • Experience with flux core welding and general fabrication work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality and consistency.
  • Ability to work required 1st or 2nd shift hours, including mandatory and optional overtime as scheduled.
  • Capability to work in a non-climate-controlled, agricultural setting, including indoor and outdoor areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ months of pulse welding experience preferred.
  • Experience with TIG welding is a plus.
  • Background in quality control related to welding and fabrication is beneficial.
  • Comfort working on unique, custom-built trucks and agricultural equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to varied, non-repetitive welding tasks and changing priorities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a combined indoor and outdoor, non-climate-controlled agricultural setting. You will work around trucks, equipment, and steel fabrication operations. Steel toe boots and jeans are required, and short sleeves are permitted as conditions allow. For 1st shift, the standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, structured as four 10-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift with mandatory 8 hours of overtime each Friday, plus optional overtime on Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. For 2nd shift, the schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, consisting of four 12-hour shifts with overtime included in Thursday’s shift, along with optional Saturday overtime from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The environment is hands-on and production-oriented, with regular use of welding equipment, fabrication tools, and steel materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blair, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
