The Water Features Mechanic is responsible for the overnight maintenance, repair, and operation of all water features throughout the property, while also supporting general building maintenance functions as needed. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, preventive maintenance experience, and a solid working knowledge of building systems to ensure guest safety, and system reliability. The position primarily works overnight shifts to support uninterrupted hotel operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, inspect, and repair all hotel water features including fountains, pools, pumps, filtration systems, motors, valves, piping, and associated electrical components.

  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure proper water quality, circulation, mechanical integrity, and visual presentation of water features.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control system issues related to water features and general building systems.

  • Maintain the physical functionality and safety of guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas, and back-of-house facilities as needed.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests and internal work orders involving water features and maintenance-related concerns.

  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance involving plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, carpentry, painting, and masonry.

  • Conduct inspections to identify corrective and preventive maintenance needs and document findings accurately.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and identify items requiring service.

  • Assist with routine patrols of hotel interiors and exterior areas to identify safety, security, and facility-related concerns.

  • Respond effectively to emergency situations including equipment failures, water leaks, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life or property.

  • Promote and adhere to safe work practices in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Leadership Team.

  • Preferred 3–5 years of building or facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a hospitality or commercial environment.

    Demonstrated experience maintaining water features, pools, pumps, filtration systems, and related mechanical and electrical components preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of major building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and life-safety systems.

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical schematics.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.

  • Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.

  • Basic computer proficiency.
