Job Title: Wastewater Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a new graduate Civil Engineer who has interest in Wastewater Engineering. You will contribute to our projects related to water and wastewater/sewer treatment plants. This role involves working on utility systems, including new pipes, pump stations, and pipe relocations, as well as handling permitting, grant application writing, and construction quality assurance (CQA). The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in client interfacing after receiving appropriate training. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate looking to get their career started!

Responsibilities

  • Work on projects related to water and wastewater/sewer treatment plants.
  • Develop utility systems, including new pipes, pump stations, and pipe relocations.
  • Handle permitting processes and write grant applications.
  • Ensure construction quality assurance (CQA) is maintained.
  • Engage in client interfacing after training.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience or familiarity with wastewater management is a plus, even if during an internship/co-op.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Experience in client interfacing is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

The position is based on-site in Frankfort, KY, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Our department consists of approximately 30-40 employees, offering the opportunity to take on a variety of tasks and learn diverse skills within civil engineering, rather than being confined to a single responsibility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
