Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The Warehouse Worker supports multiple functions within a large distribution center, including case picking, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. This role operates various types of material handling equipment to move inventory safely and efficiently throughout the facility while maintaining high standards of accuracy, cleanliness, and safety.

1st. shift: 10am to 6;30pm - Mon to Friday

2nd. shift: 2pm to 10:30pm - Mond to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple departments in the distribution center, including receiving, breakdown, stocking, case pick, repack picking, packing, returns, loading, and dock operations.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks to move, store, and retrieve inventory.
  • Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify products for customer orders and internal replenishment tasks.
  • Assist with staging and loading customer orders into trucks, ensuring products are properly secured and prepared for delivery.
  • Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and other distribution centers against packing lists and documentation.
  • Use packing list information to accurately collect items for customer orders, including building, wrapping, and labeling pallets of products.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and promptly notify supervision of inventory or quality issues.
  • Return misplaced or mis-slotted products to their proper storage locations to maintain inventory accuracy and organization.
  • Perform inventory control functions as needed, including cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques while exercising sound judgment under general supervision.
  • Escalate complex or unusual problems to a supervisor or senior coworker for resolution.
  • Collaborate with receivers, stockers, breakdown associates, case pickers, repack pickers, packers, and dockworkers to meet productivity and service goals.
  • Work overtime when approved by supervision to support business needs and high-volume periods.

Essential Skills

  • 0–2 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or a related area of responsibility.
  • Experience operating forklift equipment, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks, or the ability to qualify on this equipment.
  • Ability to use RF scanning equipment for picking, packing, and inventory tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical, warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements such as bending, squatting, and using a 10-key or calculator.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse distribution processes, including picking orders, stocking, and receiving.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and follow well-defined policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail when verifying quantities, quality, and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large distribution center environment is a plus.
  • Experience in roles such as receiver, stocker, breakdown associate, dockworker, case picker, repack picker, or packer is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with pallet building, wrapping, and staging for outbound shipments.
  • Comfort operating around moving machinery and in areas with loud noise and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a large team of associates across different shifts.
  • Willingness to work overtime with supervisor approval to support business demands.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large distribution center of approximately 500,000 square feet, employing around 250 associates across multiple shifts. The facility supports the distribution of appliances to direct customers and commercial accounts. Work typically takes place in a generally comfortable warehouse environment but includes regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, resulting in a moderate level of physical risk and noticeable discomfort at times. The position is physically demanding and requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods that can exceed 60 minutes, and performing repetitive movements such as bending, squatting, and frequent use of a 10-key or calculator. Associates work with a variety of material handling equipment, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks, and use RF scanners for picking and inventory tasks. The operation includes multiple functional areas such as receiving, breakdown, stocking, case picking, repack picking, packing, and dock work. Overtime is available with supervisor approval based on business needs. A standard warehouse attire is appropriate, with any additional safety or protective gear provided or specified according to company safety policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
