Job Description

The Warehouse Associate runs and maintains a designated warehouse or manufacturing section that directly supplies materials to production assemblers. This role ensures that materials, components, and hardware are consistently available, accurately labeled, and efficiently organized to support smooth production flow. The Warehouse Associate works closely with production, inventory control, and purchasing teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, support continuous improvement, and uphold a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run and maintain an assigned warehouse or manufacturing section that supplies materials directly to production assemblers.
  • Ensure materials, components, and hardware are fully stocked, neatly organized, and clearly labeled for easy access by assemblers.
  • Monitor inventory levels on an ongoing basis and proactively restock materials to prevent production delays.
  • Pick, stage, and replenish parts in alignment with production schedules, work orders, and pull systems such as kanban and FIFO.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and promptly report discrepancies or shortages to supervision.
  • Coordinate with production, inventory control, and purchasing teams to ensure timely material availability for all production needs.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and carts, in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and material movement throughout the facility as needed.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance material flow efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Accurately document material usage, transfers, and inventory adjustments using warehouse systems, logs, or data tools.
  • Support overall warehouse operations by performing general material handling tasks such as picking, loading, and staging shipments.
Essential Skills
  • Previous warehouse experience with responsibility for material handling and inventory support.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory control processes, including picking, loading, stocking, and cycle counting.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
  • Adequate knowledge of warehouse data systems or inventory management tools to record and track material movements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep materials labeled, sorted, and easily accessible.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with production, inventory control, and purchasing teams.
  • Physical ability to lift or move heavy products as required by warehouse operations.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work area in line with OSHA and company standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with pull systems such as kanban and FIFO for staging and replenishing parts.
  • Experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment supporting production assemblers.
  • Attention to detail when documenting material usage, transfers, and inventory adjustments.
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Strong time management skills to balance picking, staging, cycle counting, and restocking activities.

Work Environment

This position is based in a modern, well-maintained manufacturing facility with a dedicated warehouse area that directly supports production operations. The current schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the organization working toward a consistent 40-hour workweek based on four 10-hour days. The environment involves active material handling, use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts, and regular movement throughout the facility. The workplace emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards, creating a professional and efficient setting for warehouse operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
