Position: Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking a dynamic Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead our logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability. This role involves supervising and training teams, optimizing inventory and transportation activities, maintaining certifications and compliance standards, and managing facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a preference for experience in SAP and advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Manage a team of logistics professionals to ensure organizational standards are met
Supervise, coach, and train warehouse staff and other logistics specialists
Planning logistics, warehouse, and transportation activities
Develop, maintain, and improve KPI requirements (both internal and external)
Ensure staffing levels are adequate and profitability is in line with goals
Help to process daily shipments via common carrier, integrator and freight forwarder
Work within ERP, WMS, and MRP systems to ensure accurate inventory control
Optimizing location to maximize efficiency and profitability
Maintain site certifications and records such as CTPAT, CFS, ISO, GDP, etc. as well as compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
Liaising and negotiating with suppliers
Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas
Ensuring routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors
Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred
MS Word, Excel, and overall computer literate
Advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Power Point and Excel
SAP experience not required but preferred
Strong analytical/problem solving, communication, and collaboration/relationship skills
Familiarity with security measures and protocols
Able to work effectively in a highly cross-functional organization, as well as work independently
Requires the ability to make judgments and work with minimum supervision
Level-headed and be able to lead a team
