Distribution Center Manager
This is a hands-on, full-ownership warehouse leadership role responsible for:
- End-to-end DC operations: inbound, outbound, inventory, and facility management
- Operational performance: hitting strict SLAs (e.g., same-day ship, 48-hour transfer processing)
- Cost & efficiency optimization: continuous improvement mindset tied to budgets and KPIs
- Compliance: strong emphasis on GDP + food safety (FSQA) standards
- People leadership: building, training, and managing a full warehouse team
Key Operational Priorities
High-velocity fulfillment environment
- Same-day shipping cutoff expectations
- Tight turnaround on transfers (48 hours)
- Requires experience in fast-paced, accuracy-driven operations
Inventory accuracy & control
- Lot tracking, rotation, physical inventory
- Likely ideal candidates have experience with:
- Food distribution
- Pharma / regulated environments
- Inventory discipline is critical due to perishability/compliance
Systems & process proficiency
- Must be comfortable with:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Shipping platforms / carrier coordination
- Not just user-level—expected to train others and optimize processes
Compliance-driven operations
- GDP + FSQA = regulated environment experience is a major differentiator
- Audit readiness and documentation discipline are essential
Must-have leadership capabilities
- Proven experience managing warehouse teams end-to-end
- Ability to:
- Recruit, train, and develop staff
- Drive accountability and performance metrics
- Communicate operational changes across teams
