ROLE DESCRIPTION

This role is an opportunity to bring both artistic vision and hands‑on building skills to a curated, high-end retail environment. You will conceptualize, design, and execute window displays, in-store installations, and mannequin styling that reflect the boutique’s luxury aesthetic and brand storytelling. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with creative ideation and physical construction, and thrives in an environment where independence, craftsmanship, and elevated taste are essential.


CORE RESPONSIBILITITES

Window Display Design & Execution- Monthly

  • Conceptualize and develop original, on-brand window display concepts each month.
  • Present mood boards, sketches, or visual references for approval.
  • Source, build, and assemble props, structures, and display elements.
  • Execute full installation and breakdown, including carpentry, painting, fabrication, and finishing work.

In-Store Display Design & Execution-Monthly

  • Create cohesive in-store display concepts that complement the window and reinforce the overarching brand narrative.
  • Build, arrange, and style merchandise vignettes, tabletop displays, and feature areas throughout the store.
  • Conceptualize floor layouts and flow across risers to achieve the desired design.
  • Ensure all displays are visually compelling, commercial, and aligned with the boutique’s luxury aesthetic.

Mannequin Styling-Twice Monthly

  • Dress and style mannequins with fresh looks twice per month, reflecting current product priorities and editorial direction.
  • Coordinate with store management on featured items and new arrivals.
  • Ensure proper fit, pinning, and presentation of garments on all forms.

Store Visual Maintenance-Weekly

  • Conduct weekly walk-throughs to assess and refresh the store’s overall visual presentation.
  • Straighten, re-pin, and re-merchandise as needed to maintain a premium environment.
  • Identify and address visual inconsistencies, damaged displays, or repair needs.
  • Communicate any structural or installation-related needs to store management.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain visual standards between visits.

Engagement Schedule- This is a recurring, project-based engagement with the following minimum commitments:

  • 1× per month — Window display concept + full build and installation
  • 1× per month — Interior display concept + full build and installation
  • 2× per month — Full mannequin restyling
  • 1× per week — Visual maintenance, refresh, and minor repairs


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of visual merchandising experience, ideally in luxury, contemporary, or designer retail.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating window displays, in-store installations, and mannequin styling.
  • Proven ability to physically construct and build display elements using wood, paint, adhesives, metals, hardware, and other materials.
  • Skilled with tools such as drills, staple guns, levels, and other equipment needed for display assembly.
  • Ability to work independently and own projects from concept through installation.
  • Physically capable of lifting fixtures, working at heights, dressing mannequins, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent taste level and deep appreciation for fashion, design, and brand storytelling.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.
  • Reliable, professional, and responsive.


NICE TO HAVE (Not required, but considered favorably)

  • Graphic design skills for internal documentation, signage, or simple digital assets.
  • Experience with Photoshop (background removal, color correction, etc.).
  • Formal training in visual merchandising, fashion design, or marketing.
  • Luxury fashion styling experience (clothing, shoes, accessories).
  • Established relationships with prop vendors or fabrication resources in Atlanta.
  • Familiarity with current fashion trends and seasonal editorial themes.
