About FarmGPU

FarmGPU is a fast-growing GPU cloud infrastructure company headquartered in Rancho Cordova, CA. We operate bare-metal GPU compute clusters — NVIDIA H100, H200, and B200 — under a revenue-sharing model, with active partnerships including RunPod Secure Cloud and a flagship storage validation lab. We're a lean, technical team scaling fast: hardware-heavy, compliance-conscious, and operating at the intersection of AI infrastructure and enterprise partnership.

We're looking for a VP of Operations / Chief of Staff to build and own the operating infrastructure of the company as we scale from ~15 to 40+ people. This is the person who makes FarmGPU function at the organizational level — so the CEO and technical leadership can focus on what only they can do.

The Role

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role focused on calendar management and meeting notes. And it's not a pure COO role waiting for a title. It's the person who owns the operating system of the company: how we hire, onboard, track commitments, manage partners, run financial operations, and coordinate across teams as headcount and complexity grow.

You'll work directly with the CEO and COO. You'll own cross-functional coordination and be the connective tissue between executive strategy and day-to-day execution.

What You'll Own

People & Recruiting Operations

  • Own the end-to-end hiring pipeline: job descriptions, sourcing coordination, interview process, offer logistics, and onboarding.
  • Ensure every new hire is fully onboarded: policy acknowledgments, security training, systems access, and equipment — on schedule.
  • Maintain personnel records and coordinate with HR and compliance on policy adherence.
  • Partner with leadership to identify org gaps ahead of when they become urgent.

Financial Operations

  • Manage the operational cadence of financial processes: AP/AR coordination, vendor invoice approvals, expense management, and budget tracking in partnership with the CFO.
  • Ensure financial commitments (partner contracts, vendor agreements, hardware CapEx) are tracked and surfaced to leadership with appropriate lead time.
  • Support fundraising operations: data room maintenance, investor reporting cadence, SAFE and cap table tracking.

Partner & Contract Operations

  • Own the contract operations layer: track active MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor agreements — their status, renewal dates, and key obligations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution on partner commitments: ensure engineering, operations, and finance are aligned on what's promised and when.
  • Support the COO and CBO on deal execution by managing the logistics of contract workflows, signature processes, and filing.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Run the operating cadence: weekly leadership syncs, quarterly planning, OKR tracking, and company-wide communications.
  • Maintain the single source of truth for company priorities, project status, and key decisions.
  • Identify and eliminate coordination bottlenecks before they become executive problems.

Compliance Operations

  • Partner with the CISO/CEO and CFO on SOC 2 evidence collection, policy acknowledgment tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure vendor compliance documentation, background checks, and access reviews are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain the compliance calendar so no deadline is missed.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of operating experience at a high-growth technology company — startup or scale-up environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and run cross-functional operations across people, finance, and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Strong financial literacy: comfortable with budgets, CapEx tracking, vendor contracts, and financial reporting — not a CFO, but a credible partner to one.
  • Experience with people operations: recruiting coordination, onboarding, HR compliance, and policy administration.
  • Contract and partnership operations experience: tracking MSAs, SOWs, renewals, and partner obligations at a company with multiple active enterprise relationships.
  • Exceptional written communication: able to write clearly for executive stakeholders, partners, and employees — and know which format fits which audience.
  • High agency and operational discipline: you see what needs to happen, you drive it to completion, and you close the loop.
  • Comfort working in a hardware-heavy, technical environment — you don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand what engineers and infrastructure operators are doing and why it matters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a datacenter, cloud infrastructure, or hardware company — understanding the operational rhythms of CapEx-heavy, partner-driven businesses.
  • Exposure to SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks in an operational capacity.
  • Experience supporting fundraising operations: investor data rooms, SAFE logistics, cap table administration.
  • Background working alongside a technical founder or CTO/CEO in a dual-hat role.
  • Familiarity with Notion, Linear, or similar tools for program and knowledge management.

Why FarmGPU?

  • You'll build the operating infrastructure from the ground up — this is a greenfield role with direct influence on how the company scales.
  • High visibility and access: you'll be in the room for strategic decisions and have full context on where the company is going.
  • Mission-critical: FarmGPU's ability to execute on its growth plan depends directly on this hire.
  • Located in Rancho Cordova, CA, in the heart of a growing AI and robotics ecosystem.

Compensation

  • $180,000 - $220,000 USD
  • Full-time, on-site position in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Culture & Fit

FarmGPU is a small team running serious infrastructure. We value people who are close to the work, communicate directly, and close the loop — not people who create process for its own sake.

High agency. You identify what needs to happen and drive it without waiting to be asked. You own outcomes, not tasks.

Direct communication. We say the thing that needs to be said, early. We prefer facts and data over opinions. Short, explicit asks — no ambiguity about what's needed and when.

AI-first by default. We use AI to move faster across every function. This role is no exception — we expect you to use AI to compress work across recruiting, contract management, financial tracking, and compliance operations.

Builders, not tourists. Everyone at FarmGPU is close enough to the work to understand failure modes. In this role that means understanding the infrastructure business well enough to anticipate operational problems before they surface.

Radically transparent. You'll have full context on company finances, partner commitments, and organizational health — and we expect you to use it to make better decisions and surface the right information to the right people at the right time.
