The Opportunity

As our Senior Director of Operations, you aren't just managing departments; you are building an organization for sustainable growth. You will work directly with the President and VP of Finance to design the systems, processes, and high-performance culture that will allow us to scale and double over the next three to five years. This is a high-ownership role where your impact will be visible in every monthly business review and every successful product launch.


REPORTS TO: President

SUPERVISES: Production, Sourcing, Warehouse, Facilities, Continuous Improvement/Sustaining Engineering.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Talent/Succession Management/Planning:


  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of management-level staff in the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Develops individual development and succession planning within the department.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop and execute workforce scaling strategy to ensure leadership depth and operational capabilities aligned with projected growth trajectory
  • Champion a high-engagement operating culture by actively monitoring eNPS trends, addressing root causes of disengagement, and embedding accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement into daily leadership practices.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Safety – Ensure safe working environment with 100% compliance with all company and industry standards.
  • Quality – Strategically lead production organization to meet ISO standards and drive productivity targets to the highest level.
  • Delivery – Drive customer satisfaction through best in class on time delivery and lead time management.
  • Drive operational system optimization (ERP, MRP, planning tools) to improve forecasting accuracy, inventory performance, throughput, and decision visibility across the organization.
  • Cost – Develop and implement cost out strategies across operations organization including, sourcing and vendor negotiations, continuous improvement opportunities (VAVE) and labor and overhead productivity.
  • Ensure profitable growth by protecting margin performance through disciplined labor modeling, supply chain risk management, and proactive cost containment during volume expansion.)
  • Lead capital investment planning including automation, capacity expansion, and facility optimization to support long-term scalable growth.)
  • Capacity – Drive capacity improvements to support growth initiatives through production planning, labor initiatives and footprint optimization.
  • Lead integrated Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to align demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory strategy, and production capacity to support accelerated revenue growth.
  • Culture – Develop a culture of strategic accountability, front line obsession and maintain world class eNPS score.
  • Lead the organization through operational transformation initiatives with strong change management discipline, clear communication, and measurable accountability)
  • Lean / Six Sigma – Champion operational excellence through Lean and 80/20 to achieve manufacturing initiatives.
  • Lead capital investment planning including automation, capacity expansion, and facility optimization to support long-term scalable growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies meant to assist the business in meeting its critical goals and objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Collaborates with other members of the executive management team as well as other functional areas, (Sales, Engineering, etc.) to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures.
  • Establishes and administers the department’s budget.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor's degree and at least 15 years of industry experience including three years in upper management required.


REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strategic thinking, ability to drive strategic direction and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships, foster teamwork, develop and mentor others.
  • Proven experience scaling manufacturing operational 30% within compressed timeframes.
  • Expertise in SIOP and demand planning integration.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Experience leading multi-site or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean transformation at scale.
  • CapEx planning and ROI modeling capability.
  • Change leadership in high-growth environments.
  • Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint).
