On behalf of our client, VEAP, CohenTaylor Executive Search Services is conducting a retained executive search for its next Vice President of Operations.

For more than 50 years, VEAP has been a trusted, mission driven leader supporting individuals and families across Hennepin County with access to healthy food, housing stability, and financial assistance. With more than 4.1 million pounds of food distributed annually and over 250,000 people served, VEAP is one of Minnesota’s most respected community based human services organizations.

The Vice President of Operations is a brand new role that will join VEAP at a pivotal moment of organizational growth and maturation. Reporting to the President & CEO and leading a team spanning Finance, Human Resources, IT, Administration, and Facilities, this leader will strengthen VEAP’s operational infrastructure, steward financial and organizational resilience, and ensure day to day operations align with long term strategic goals. The VP will bring strategic clarity, operational discipline, and a people centered approach to help VEAP scale its impact and meet rising community needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic operational leadership across finance, HR, IT, facilities, and administrative functions
• Oversee budgeting, planning, financial controls, and long term resource stewardship
• Strengthen systems, policies, and workflows that promote efficiency, accountability, and organizational health
• Lead operational change and crisis response efforts in partnership with the executive team
• Cultivate a culture of trust, empowerment, and continuous improvement
• Manage vendor and contract relationships to ensure high performance and alignment with VEAP’s priorities

Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in nonprofit operations or related fields
• Strong financial acumen and experience with nonprofit accounting, compliance, and risk management
• Demonstrated success leading cross functional teams and building scalable systems
• Inclusive, collaborative, and steady leadership style
• Bachelor’s degree required; experience in food access, housing stability, or social services preferred

Salary Range: $150,000–$175,000, plus bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits plan.
