Vice President of Finance and Administration

AFC Urgent Care Portland/Vancouver
Tigard, OR

VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Multi-Site Healthcare Services Platform · West Coast

A nationally affiliated urgent care platform

The Opportunity

We are a leading multi-site urgent care platform operating eight clinics across a major West Coast metropolitan area, with approximately 150 employees and a differentiated service mix that includes Occupational Health, a High Complexity Laboratory, Telehealth, and a centralized operations Hub. The company is entering a multi-year period of accelerated, disciplined growth — supported by a strong de novo pipeline, an active acquisition opportunity set, and meaningful market tailwinds in our region.

We are seeking a Vice President, Finance & Administration to lead our finance, accounting, revenue cycle, human resources, and information technology functions during this next chapter. This is a newly elevated executive role reporting directly to the CEO, with a direct seat at the table on the most important decisions facing the platform — capital allocation, M&A, organic growth, team development, and long-term value creation.

What You Will Lead
  • All financial leadership for a multi-entity, multi-state operating platform, including accounting, controls, financial reporting, FP&A, treasury, and tax

  • Revenue cycle oversight across in-house, offshore, and outsourced billing partners — supporting urgent care, Occupational Health, and laboratory billing

  • Human resources strategy and infrastructure, including compensation design, benefits administration, HRIS, and multi-state employment compliance

  • Information technology strategy, including enterprise systems, cybersecurity, vendor strategy, and the company's broader SaaS-enabled operating stack

  • Strategic partnership with the CEO and executive team on growth, M&A, and platform-level decisions

Why This Role Is Different
  • You inherit a modern, automation-forward finance operation with a strong foundation — clinic-level P&Ls, clean intercompany hygiene, a sophisticated hybrid revenue recognition approach, and a capable internal team. The opportunity is to elevate this foundation, not to rebuild it.

  • You will work directly with a founder-CEO who is deeply engaged in the business, transparent in his leadership, and committed to building one of the most respected healthcare platforms in the region.

  • The platform is at an inflection point: scaling through both organic clinic growth and selective acquisition, with meaningful career growth available as the business evolves.

  • The role offers a competitive compensation package — base salary, annual performance bonus, and long-term incentive participation — structured to align with the platform's growth trajectory.

  • AFC has a truly unique culture of collaboration, fostering a culture of camaraderie. We have the infrastructure of a nationwide company yet also the local feeling of a franchise where the owner and leadership team are present in the clinics regularly. As one of these leaders you will have the chance to make a direct impact as we continue to grow.

What We Are Looking ForRequired
  • CPA, or demonstrated technical accounting depth equivalent to a CPA, with a foundation of rigorous accounting judgment

  • Twelve or more years of progressive finance leadership experience, with meaningful time as VP Finance, CFO, or senior Controller in a multi-site services environment

  • Direct experience leading a company through a financial audit or formal review

  • Multi-state accounting, tax, and regulatory fluency, with familiarity with the West Coast environment

  • Track record of mentoring and elevating an existing capable team rather than rebuilding from scratch

  • Executive presence and the ability to serve as a credible partner to a founder-CEO and Board

Strong Advantages
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed or institutionally backed platform

  • Healthcare services experience — urgent care, primary care, occupational health, or other multi-site ambulatory or specialty provider platforms

  • M&A execution experience, including diligence, valuation, and integration

  • Hands-on experience with revenue recognition methodology, cash-to-accrual conversion, or GAAP elevation work

  • Familiarity with MSO/PC operating structures and Corporate Practice of Medicine regulatory considerations

  • Genuine engagement with AI-enabled finance and operational workflows

Location and Logistics
  • West Coast metropolitan area — primarily on-site

  • Reports directly to the Founder-CEO

  • Direct reports include Director of Finance, Director of Revenue Cycle, HR Business Partner, and IT leadership

  • Compensation: base salary, annual performance bonus, and long-term incentive participation — competitive with the multi-site healthcare services market

Our Core Values
  • Commitment - Commitments are clearly made and met

  • Health - Healthy living for everyone is promoted through sustainable and responsible behaviors

  • Excellence - Excellence in everything we do

  • Celebrate - Celebrate wins - both small and large

  • Trust - Trust builds teamwork through vulnerability and respect
