Professional Description:
We are actively hiring a Vice President of Construction – Mission Critical (Data Centers) to lead and scale a high-growth business unit across key U.S. markets (Dallas preferred, Austin considered).
This is not a traditional project executive role this is a true business leadership position with full P&L ownership, responsible for driving strategy, operational excellence, and client delivery across a portfolio of complex, large-scale data center builds.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in hyperscale or colocation environments, has led projects in the $100M–$1B+ range, and brings a proven track record of building and scaling teams across regions. This role is about owning a sector, not just delivering projects with direct influence on growth, client relationships, and how mission critical infrastructure is delivered at scale.
Job Functions:
- Lead the overall business strategy and execution for the Mission Critical (Data Center) sector
- Own and manage full P&L responsibility across a multi-project portfolio
- Oversee delivery of large-scale data center builds ($100M–$1B+) from preconstruction through commissioning
- Build, lead, and scale high-performing teams across multiple regions
- Serve as a senior client partner, engaging with hyperscale and colocation clients at the executive level
- Drive operational excellence, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management
- Champion innovation and advanced delivery methods (prefab, modular, BIM/VDC)
- Lead MEP-intensive project execution, including coordination, commissioning, and supply chain strategy
- Identify and execute on growth opportunities, expanding market presence and capabilities
Skills & Qualifications:
- 15+ years in construction, with 10+ years leading mission critical/data center projects
- Direct experience with hyperscale, colocation, or build-to-suit data centers
- Proven leadership on large-scale projects ($100M+)
- Demonstrated P&L ownership or strong financial accountability
- Experience leading multi-project portfolios or regional operations
- Deep expertise in MEP-heavy environments, commissioning, and fast-track builds
- Strong executive presence and client-facing leadership experience
Additional Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience leading a region, business unit, or vertical
- Track record of scaling teams and entering new markets
- Background in standardizing processes, playbooks, or operational frameworks
- Exposure to modular construction, prefabrication, BIM, or VDC
- Experience across union and open shop environments
