Job Title: Vice President of Human Resources
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid / Remote flexibility)
Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 + bonus

As the company continues to scale, they are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to play a critical role in shaping the next phase of growth.
This is a highly visible leadership position offering the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership to build and evolve a best-in-class HR function—driving organizational effectiveness, enhancing employee experience, and ensuring the infrastructure, talent, and culture are in place to support continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a scalable HR strategy aligned with business goals
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and HR best practices
Culture & Employee Experience
- Champion a strong, values-driven culture and employee engagement initiatives
- Lead programs focused on retention, recognition, and inclusion
Talent & Performance
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition strategy
- Lead performance management, leadership development, and career pathing initiatives
- Support employee relations, coaching leaders on complex issues
HR Operations & Total Rewards
- Oversee HR systems (HRIS), data, and reporting to drive informed decision-making
- Manage compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategy in partnership with finance
- Oversee payroll and ensure operational excellence across HR processes
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small HR team, fostering accountability and collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement across HR programs and processes
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior leadership responsibility
- Proven experience building or scaling HR functions in mid-sized or growing organizations
- Strong expertise in employee engagement, talent management, and HR operations
- Experience leveraging HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity or similar)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) or advanced degree preferred
