Use your passion to drive the MedVet experience for our clients and patients, as well as your teammates.We arelooking for:OncologyVeterinaryAssistantOurOncologydepartmentassistswith chemotherapyand radiation treatments,venipuncture, IV catheter placement, as well as client education and communication.This is a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail,compassionand a desire to drive excellent patient care.
Whatyou’lldo:
  • Managing appointments: obtaining histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc., as well as organize and manage daily service flow
  • Ensure documentation isaccurateand complete
  • Assistwithchemotherapy and radiation therapy protocols
  • Safety as it relates to secondary exposure and patient safety
  • Administration procedures including extravasation protocols
  • Medications,protocolsand related drug dosages
  • Drug calculations as they relate to the treatment plan
  • Side effects and general treatment guidelines
  • Vertical-flow hood maintenance
  • Clinical studies/trials
  • Setting up/assistingwith CT and radiation treatments
  • Venipuncture, restraint, basic laboratory skills
  • Intravenous catheter placement, endotrachealintubationand anesthetic equipment use and maintenance
  • Client communicationand education
Whoyou are:
  • Prior veterinary experiencerequired,previousoncologyexperience desired
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
