The Practice Manager is charged with the success of the practice through quality patient care and exceptional client service. This is accomplished through proper management and training of the support team. The Practice Manager is also responsible for managing the business activities of the veterinary hospital. Core Responsibilities:
Daily accounting transactions with clients, banks, suppliers, and personnel
Coordinate scheduling, training, for the practice
Supervision of support services personnel
Liaison with clients concerning complaints or problems the client experiences with the hospital
Skills/Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with clients and personnel
Working knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to supervise a team through coordination and motivation
Experience in money handling and account reconciliation
Ability to solve problems with professionalism and compassion
Key Responsibilities:
Manage business activity of the hospital
Ensure that administrative policies and decisions are accomplished
Accurately perform all accounting duties including deposits, accounts receivable statements, collections, and client billing
Direct support staff through structuring, scheduling, motivation, and education to produce highest level of client satisfaction possible
Plan for optimal staffing of support personnel to assure maximum productivity and service
Help recruit, interview, and hire support staff personnel
Supervise support staff personnel and act as the direct authority regarding disciplinary procedures, discharging, and all the legal responsibilities of employment
Ensure that performance reviews are conducted at scheduled intervals
Oversee scheduling of support staff in coordination with Head Receptionist and Kennel Manager
Maintain Policy and Employee Manual
Review all accounts payable and receivables to confirm that each is handled correctly and timely
Ensure that the building and equipment are clean and well always maintained
Periodically review fee schedule for services and products, and increases or changes as necessary
