Our pharmaceutical client is seeking a motivated Fermentation Scientist with hands‑on experience in cell culture, microbiology, or bioprocess operations to support upstream development and manufacturing activities within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment. This role plays a key part in optimizing fermentation and cell culture processes, supporting technology transfer, and ensuring robust, high‑quality production of biologics and microbial‑based products. This position is ideal for candidates with academic or industry experience in fermentation, cell culture, or microbiology, including strong early‑career scientists and graduates from programs such as NCSU Bioprocessing Science (BTEC) or similar biotechnology programs.


Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field.
  • Hands‑on experience in cell culture and/or fermentation, either through industry, academic labs, co‑ops, or bioprocess training programs.
  • Strong aseptic technique and familiarity with microbial or mammalian cell handling.


Plusses

  • Experience with bioreactor systems (e.g., Sartorius, Applikon, Thermo, Eppendorf).
  • Exposure to GMP or GLP environments.
  • Familiarity with upstream analytics (OD600, metabolite assays, cell viability, microscopy).
  • Experience with process development, scale‑up, or tech transfer.
