A leading global Am law 100 firm is seeking a highly qualified Private Wealth Associate to join its Los Angeles Century City office. This role offers the opportunity to work within a premier Trusts & Estates practice, advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer matters.

Candidates with a background in transactional or tax work who are interested in transitioning to a Private Wealth practice may also be considered.


The Los Angeles Private Wealth team is ranked Band 2 in Chambers High Net Worth for California: Southern, a position it has held for around a decade—a strong indicator of sustained quality, not a one-off result Chambers highlights the team for estate planning, administration, and charitable planning for wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists.


While LA has a strong local identity, the team is fully embedded in the firm’s national and international Private Wealth platform, regularly collaborating with colleagues in New York, Chicago, and across jurisdictions.


This makes the LA office particularly attractive for associates wanting cross-border exposure and complex, multi-jurisdictional planning work.


Responsibilities:


  • Advise high-net-worth individuals and family office structures on estate and wealth planning matters
  • Assist with trust and estate planning and ongoing administration
  • Handle probate filings and related court submissions
  • Prepare and submit federal estate tax and gift tax returns
  • Support clients on a broad range of private wealth and succession planning matters
  • Collaborate closely with partners and client teams on sophisticated, high-value engagements


Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in high-net-worth estate planning within a nationally or regionally recognised Trusts & Estates practice (preferred)
  • Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and family office structures
  • Exposure to trust and estate administration, probate filings, and estate and gift tax returns
  • Experience with charitable planning is a plus
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused, team-oriented work ethic
