The Treasury and Chief Investment Office (T/CIO) manages JPM's balance sheet strategy to ensure the firm achieves its capital, liquidity, and interest rate exposure targets while growing shareholder value.

Capital Strategy is a project-based strategy team within Capital Management that partners with several JPMC functions, including Operating Committee, Risk, Policy, Investor Relations, as well as Line of Business Treasurers and key business partners, to provide perspective on balance sheet constraints, regulatory capital-related topics and guiding lines of business on efficient capital and balance sheet decisions.

The team combines advanced analytics and consulting tools to partner across the firm and facilitate executive decision-making on the firm's balance sheet

Core responsibilities include:

  • Prepare in-depth analysis (financial projections, capital forecasting, product valuations, stress test modeling, impact scenario analysis, peer comparisons) to support senior level decision-making on the firm's balance sheet
  • Research into specific financial services products, regulations, and market economics to synthesize insights and support business modeling, pricing, and planning
  • Collaborate across partner groups to execute firmwide initiatives and ensure consistent valuation methodology across the firm's assets (e.g., loan products, investment portfolio) and liabilities (e.g., deposits)
  • Deliver ad-hoc quantitative analysis to facilitate both internal and external strategic forums and drive critical reviews of the firm's balance sheet positions and create go-forward asset and deposit strategies
  • Design and execute data-driven projects across high profile, topical areas related to the firm's balance sheet (e.g., asset returns modeling, deposit balance forecasting, regulatory methodology deep-dive) to provide insights and recommendations on balance sheet management

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; background in financial institutions and strategy preferred
  • Undergraduate degree; sciences, economics, engineering, accounting, or finance preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel in particular)
  • Prior knowledge and experience in regulatory capital preferred
  • Knowledge of financial statements preferred
  • Tableau Software experience optional
  • Creative self-starter with strong initiative and ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to multi-task and work effectively with senior management in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Detail oriented and able to clearly communicate complex ideas to multiple audiences

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a track record of execution against deliverables
