Transportation Engineering Intern

City of Bellevue
Bellevue, WA

Bellevue’s Transportation Department is seeking to fill a Transportation Engineering Intern position within the Traffic Engineering group. This position will support the City’s efforts to plan, design, and operate safer and more comfortable transportation facilities for people walking, biking, rolling, taking transit and driving throughout Bellevue.

This internship provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with engineers on projects that improve transportation safety and accessibility. The intern will assist with conceptual design, data management and analysis, field reviews, and evaluation and implementation of multimodal safety improvements such as pedestrian crossings, bicycle facilities, speed management strategies and intersection control treatments. The position will also provide exposure to the planning, design, and operational considerations involved in advancing the City’s Vision Zero goals through Safe System principles.
