Who you are:
- Holds a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Has an excellent driving record
- Has excellent driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads
- Maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents at all times
- Able to interpret and follow map directions
- Holds a high school diploma/GED
- Able to understand and follow instructions in English
- Has effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to perform simple arithmetic
- Able to organize and prioritize work
- The Transportation Driver must be able to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day
- You are able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries
- Having good visual and hearing acuity is required
- Able to withstand exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat) for short periods of time
Summary:
The Transportation Driver is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of residents to various individual and group activities.
Job Expectations:
- Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities where bus transportation is needed.
- Be able to assist residents coming in and out of buildings.
- Maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents at all times
- Completes a safety check of the vehicle before transporting residents to and from scheduled trips or activities.
- Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
- Transports vehicle to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicles as scheduled by supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor of necessary vehicle repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
- Notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.
- Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
- Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on vehicles according to schedule.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Drives vehicle on appointed, scheduled, and/or requested routes, pickups, and deliveries of people and packages.
- Maintains safe speeds at all times.
- Must meet company’s insurance qualification requirements in order to operate company vehicles
